When you rent a vehicle from Shayar Rent A Car, the following are included at no additional cost:

The following charges are not included in the rental rate and must be settled upon arrival:

• Airport Surcharge: Applies as per actual terminal parking fees
• Traffic Fines, Salik/DARB tolls, Parking Fees: Responsibility of the renter

👤 Driver Eligibility

• Minimum Age to Rent: 23 years
• Young Driver Policy (23–24 years):
  • Allowed to rent Small, Economy, and Compact cars only
  • Young Driver Fee: AED 50/day (maximum AED 1,000/month)
  • Security Deposit: AED 2,500
  • Not eligible for Super CDW, 2,500 AED insurance excess
  • 25% of the repair cost
• License Requirements:
  • Must be valid for at least 1 year
  • GCC Residents: GCC license accepted with matching GCC passport
  • Accepted without IDP: USA, UK, EU, Australia, Japan, Canada, Turkey & others
  • Others: National license + International Driving Permit (IDP)
  • China: Requires an official approved translation of the license
• Required at Pick-Up:
  • Valid Passport
  • Driver’s License
  • Credit Card (main driver’s name), or Debit Card
  • Booking Confirmation

💰 Security Deposit Options

Standard Rental (25+): AED 1,500 (Held for 21 working days after return — AED 2,000 excess applies)

Young Drivers (23–24): AED 2,000 (Held for 21 working days after return — AED 2,500 excess applies)

Deposit-Free Rental: AED 0 (The Renter can choose the Deposit-Free option at the beginning of the rental at the time of booking for an additional cost which shall be paid in advance (check the validity required) AED 2,000 excess applies)

Note: All tolls, fines, or unpaid charges will be deducted from the deposit or charged to your card.

🛡️ Insurance Coverage

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Covers vehicle damage. Excess: AED 2,000
• Theft Protection: Covers vehicle theft. No deductible
• Third Party Liability (TPL): Bodily Injury: Up to AED 200,000, Property Damage: Up to AED 2,000,000
• Personal Accident Insurance: Covers medical costs for driver/passengers (up to AED 200,000)

• Child Seat (2–4 years): AED 20/day, AED 200 full rental

⛽ Fuel Policy

• Same-to-Same: Return with same fuel level as received
• Missing Fuel: Charged at market rates
• No refund for unused fuel

🚨 Damage & Accident Policy

• Police Report Required for all incidents
• Your liability: Up to AED 2,500 or 25% of repair cost
• 100% liability if police report not filed
• Contact Shayar Rent A Car and Dubai Police (901) immediately

🧾 Additional Charges

• One-Way Drop-Off Fee: AED 50
• Booking Changes (<24h notice): AED 100
• Valet Cleaning Fee (excessively dirty car): AED 600
• Exterior Dirt Only: AED 150
• Traffic Fines: Must be paid within 48 hours
• Toll Charges (SALIK/DARB): Actual rate + AED 2 admin/crossing
• Late Return: 2-hour grace period, then daily rate applies

📅 Rental & Return Policy

• Rentals calculated on a 24-hour basis
• Reservations held for 60 minutes
• Late Return: Charges apply after 2-hour grace
• Vehicle must be returned clean, smoke-free, and in good condition
• In the event that the specific car model booked by the customer is not available at the time of delivery, Shayar Rent A Car reserves the right to provide a vehicle from the same category or a comparable model. If a similar vehicle is also unavailable, an upgrade to a higher category may be offered at no additional cost to the customer.
